Werner Bischof has been in the incoming business for over 30 years. His successful career took him to the travel agencies and tour operators Ruefa Reisen – ÖAMTC Reisebuero – Oesterreichisches Verkehrsbuero – and Panorama Tours & Travel / Austria Congress of which he was General Manager for 20 years.
True to the saying „live your dream“, Werner founded his own company, I-WB in March 2008, reaching for new horizons and encouraged by many clients. His aim was to put his know-how, his experience and his excellent international contacts to good use for the local tourism industry. The project Oberammergau Passion Play 2010 was a great success! Werner took part significantly in developing this project during the last decade, an undertaking of major importance for the Austrian and Bavarian tourism industries. Now, back to the roots,
Werner handles incoming tourism to Austria and its neighbouring countries, sales and marketing activities for various clients, as well as creative projects, such as the Way of St. James in Austria which is undoubtedly a significant holiday for every pilgrim and those who want to find the meaning of life.
Armin Schmelzle ran his own 4 star hotel in Salzburg for 12 years. In February 2008, shortly after his 40th birthday, he left for the Way of St. James in Spain. At that time he walked the ‚Camino‘ from Leon to Santiago de Compostela. As a result he changed his whole life.
Today Armin is a consultant and coach for the hospitality industry and a specialist on the Way of St. James in Austria and Spain. Twice a year he travels with a small group of individuals to Spain to find personal answers to the essential questions of life during this pilgrimage tour. As a certified coach with a holistic approach, he supports the participants enabling them to find their own way for dealing with life’s challenges.
He also walks on the Way of St. James in Austria. ‚I appreciate the beauty, the rich cultural history and the friendliness of the people of my home country‘ he answers when asked ‚why would you walk in Austria rather than going to Spain? ‚The Way of St. James begins on your own doorstep, just have a careful look and you will see the signs which lead you on your pilgrimage to yourself!‘
